A. Date Metadata
As is known, in the article metadata menu, we can only change the publication date of an article. However, there is no feature to set other dates such as the submitted date. This makes it difficult for us to publish our print media to online media such as OJS. Therefore, by using this plugin, you are allowed to set the date of the article submission and also the article is accepted.
This feature that enables you to change the date of article submission and the date when it is accepted is very useful when you want to fix the proper date from the article that was added by using the quick submit plugin or from the migration of the journal that is published in hard-copy version to the online version which is needed to change the correct date.
B. Required Submission File
The Required Submission File Plugin is an OJS 3 plugin that allows an editor or Journal manager to set the types of submission files that are allowed. This means that when users try to submit articles, they will be required to upload certain files before they can proceed to the next process.
This plugin is useful for avoiding incomplete submissions that are in many cases categorized as spam.
The feature also allows you to disable/disallow the extension of the file type which will increase the security of your OJS by protecting some suspected malicious files by the hacker that is registering himself/herself as an author.
C. Banner Announcement
The Banner Announcement plugin helps you to be able to display an announcement at the top of each page of your journal, making it easier for authors and visitors to view information on an announcement in the journal.
By using this feature you can make any headline that needs some visitor attention such as an announcement from an upcoming issue or conference that is conducted by the institution that is related to your journal.
D. Video Abstract #
It is the multimedia era right now. The visitor of your journal is not just interested in reading the article, it becomes more interesting for them if the article provides some video summary as a matter of more wide communication to the community or to a public audience.
In the plugin, you can add the video abstract easily (using Youtube video) by adding the link to the video.
The video Abstract plugin allows adding a video to the abstract metadata menu on OJS. A video abstract is a short video that summarizes the content of a scientific journal or other publication. It is usually created by the authors or editors of the journal and can be used as a promotional tool to introduce the journal to the general public or to help readers understand the content of the journal.
