The origin of both software #
Open Journal Systems (OJS) is an open source software application for managing and publishing scholarly journals. The developer of OJS is the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). PKP Released OJS in 2001.
PKP created OJS to increase access to research, increase the number of journal readers, and contribute to the public interest on a global scale.
DSpace is an open source repository software, which is useful for creating open access repositories for schools and / or digital content publishing. DSpace’s developer is DuraSpace.
In short, DSpace was originally developed by MIT Libraries and HP Labs and released in 2002. Then DSpace became a DuraSpace project in 2009 when Fedora Commons and the DSpace organization merged to become DuraSpace.

Meanwhile, DSpace is used as a general file repository. The resource that will be published will be decided by a more limited user since the document that will be published is a final document rather than a draft document.
