Introduction #
JATS stands for Journal Article Tag Suite. JATS is an XML format used to describe the structure of scientific articles in text format. JATS contains elements and attributes that describe the metadata, structure, and content of the article. Examples of the types of journal indexing services that currently require the JATS/XML format in scientific journal publications are:

Click according to the link to login to your JATS Editor account.
Then, when you have logged into your account, check your token.

Setup Your Account for JATS Editor #
1. Create a new account here
2. Don’t forget to create your own organization for your JATS.
3. After you click sign-up, a Verify your email address notification will appear, you must open your email and click verify on the email.
4. After you verify your email, you can refresh your JATS page

When you want to create your JATS file, make sure you are on your Organization page.
For OJS User #
Installation OJTPlugin #
When you use one of the plugin products from openjournaltheme, you will get OJTPlugin as a panel to make it easier for you to manage the themes and plugins provided by openjournaltheme. With this plugin, you can install, delete, and update all plugins provided by openjournaltheme.
By installing the OjtPlugin you can install many of our products from the free product that can be installed or openjournaltheme premium product.
Note:
1. OJTPlugin is only supports OJS 3.1.2.4 to OJS Latest version if you are using a lower version of OJS than OJS 3.1.2.4 then to install the theme or plugin you can contact us for the installation process: contact us

Note:
If you have previously installed a theme or plugin on your OJS but want to enter validation licenses for the same theme or plugin in your other journals, you can enter the license directly on the appearance OJS theme or plugin page.
Installation JATS Editor #
1. Activate the plugin via OJS Control Panel by going to the menu Settings → Website and clicking the Plugins tab as shown below :
2. Find the OJT Control Panel section below of that Plugins tab, then click the checkbox to activate the plugin, and After this plugin is activated, click the arrow and select Control Panel Settings:
3. Then in the Plugin Gallery dashboard menu, you find and install JATS Editor
4. After the plugin is installed then you should activate the plugin by accessing the Plugins list and accessing the Installed Plugins tab.
5. After the plugin is active, then on the left menu click on OJT JATS Editor
6. Click “Continue with JATS Editor”
Then, for sync your metadata to JATS Editor, select your organization
7. After you have settled up everything in the plugin, you can go to list the issue and for example click one of the issue to list all the article in that issue.
In the list of article you can click “Create JATS” button.
8. You are now in the JATS Editor workspace. To add content to your article section, click on the Import section and input your article document file.
Note:
1. Make sure your document file has doc/docx format to avoid import error/failure.
2. Make sure to have a References section in your <Back> Section editor before importing for smoother automated citation.
9. If your import is successful, the <Body> section will display the contents of the article you have imported. Now you can edit your article.
Note:
1. Make sure your Reference List format is correct
2. Check the import result again, especially Table and Figure
10. After you have finished editing your article, export your article with Export to JATS
Make sure you have enough tokens to be able to export
11. You will get a .zip file containing data on your article that you can upload later on your OJS site
Platform Independent (Non OJS platform user) #
Installation and usage of JATS Editor #
1. If you have registered an account on JATS, you can login using your account first.
2. After you have successfully logged in, click on Create → Create Document
3. You are now in the JATS Editor workspace. Then, add your article metadata.
Click on + Metadata
Complete your article metadata.
4. To add content to your article section, click on the Import section and input your article document file.
Note:
1. Make sure your document file has doc/docx format to avoid import error/failure.
