A brief description of the OMP #
Citation from the PKP website, Open Open Monograph Press (OMP) is an open-source software platform for managing and publishing scholarly books. It can be used for managing the editorial workflow required to see monographs, edited volumes, and, scholarly editions through internal and external review, editing, cataloging, production, and publication. OMP can operate, as well, as a press website with catalog, distribution, and sales capacities.
Submission process #
Before that, make sure you are registered as a user on “Press” to which you want to submit submissions.
Firstly, u need to login to the “Press”
Go to the Dashboard and create a new submission “New Submission” #
After logging in, we will be directed to the Dashboard page, then you select to create a new submission.
1. Prepare #
In this “Prepare” step, we will be asked to fill in the submission type, and the submission requirements, and agree to the submission policy to the Press website in order to submit the submission.
Submission Type :
- Monograph: The type of submission sent is a book.
- Edited Volume: The type of submission sent is a chapter.
Submission Requirements :
Agree on a number of list items given by filling in them before proceeding to the next step.
Cover Note to Editor :
Messages or comments were given to the editor of the Press.
2. Upload Submission #
In this “Upload Submission” step, we are asked to upload a file. Upload the file according to the previously selected submission type, and then select “Save and continue“.
Tips: You can also upload another file by clicking “Upload File“.
3. Catalog #
In this “Catalog” step, we are asked to enter the metadata info for the submission. The only thing that needs to be filled in is if there is a red asterisk * on the label.
For metadata that is not mandatory, it’s up to you whether you want to fill it in or not. But, it’s better to fill in the metadata.

Chapters that will come out later when publishing chapters.
Additional Refinements Keywords :
Keywords to make it easier to find your submission later when it is published.
4. Confirmation #
At this step, you can review your submission to check whether you have entered the data info correctly and reduce the risk of rejection.

After submitting this submission, later you will go through several stages before your submission is published on the Press site.
