One way to track the number of downloads for an article in Open Journal Systems (OJS) is by using the built-in statistics feature. This feature allows you to view the number of times an article has been downloaded, as well as other statistics such as the number of views, unique views, and the average number of views per day. By using this feature, authors can easily see how their articles are performing and gauge the level of interest in their research. Additionally, OJS also provides the ability to export the statistics data to excel, making it easy to share the data with others.
Another way to track the number of downloads for an article is by using Google Analytics. This service can be integrated with OJS by adding a tracking code to the website. By using Google Analytics, you can see detailed data on how users are interacting with your website, including the number of downloads for each article. This data can be used to understand the behavior of your audience and make data-driven decisions about the content that you publish.
Overall, OJS provides a number of ways to track the number of downloads for an article, which can be used to gain a better understanding of how your content is performing and make more informed decisions about the type of content that you publish.
Well, for that. OJS has prepared a plugin so that people can view the download statistics of the article called Usage Statistics plugin.
Note: In order to activate the Usage Statistics plugin in OJS, you must log in as the admin of the OJS.
