Open Journal Systems (OJS) is an open-source platform for managing and publishing journals online. One of the important features of OJS is its ability to facilitate collaboration between authors, editors, and reviewers. As part of the editing process, editors usually need to edit metadata on submitted articles.
As a Section Editor, you are responsible for evaluating incoming articles and determining whether the article is appropriate to the topic of your journal or not. One of the tasks you perform is to check the metadata of the submitted articles. Metadata is information about the article, such as title, author, abstract, and keywords. In some cases, you may want to edit the metadata of the article submission. How can the user section editor be able to edit the metadata in the submitted articles?
Here are some steps you can follow:
First method
Log in as an admin, then go to the Submission menu and select an article whose metadata you want to edit
Select the Section Editor menu on the right, click on the small arrow first then Edit
Then click the appropriate box column on the arrow and OK
Second method
Login as admin, then enter the User & Roles menu
Select the Roles menu tab, then click on the small arrow in the Section editor section then Edit
And check the Permit submission metadata edit section and OK
These are the steps that can be followed so that the user section editor can edit the metadata of the submitted articles at OJS. In the editing process, it is important for the section editor to ensure that the article metadata is accurate and correct so that the article can be properly published in the journal.
