Thank You #
We are the team on openjournaltheme.com would like to say thank you so much for buying this theme. It took 3 month for us to create this theme and more months to come as we maintain this theme and add another feature.
One of our visions is to help many publishers to get done their task with affordable cost
Our team strives to bring this high quality theme but we always need more suggestions or any response to anything about this theme.
You can also get the images & image licenses contained in this theme demo at the following link: Image & license
About Support #
Support is for the installation, usage, or bug of the theme. We may not give support if the request from our client is outside of the theme scope or if the change to the theme is based on specific user preferences. But if you are in need, we provide additional service for your custom request.
We would consider adding the additional features that are asked by the client as the new feature that will be implemented with the theme in the next release.
The support and update are only for 1 year since your purchase date. We are sure that you understand that it would need cost and effort to provide support and a high-quality theme for another year. However, you can use the theme forever and you have the option to renew the support and update by making a payment of 20% of the theme’s initial cost. Your support is important for us as it would help us to implement any new feature for this theme.
License Notice #
A single license can be used only for 1 press. Each use of the theme for others press requires a separate license. We hope you will follow the rules as it will help us to continue supporting our themes, further development and providing future updates.

Book Detail Page #
- Citation Feature
Preview :
This feature provides citation features on the book detail with multiple options. As we develop this theme, this feature is only available for this theme since the default OMP does not provide this theme as a plugin and no other third party provides this plugin.
This feature runs automatically without the need to set up anything on the catalog theme.
- Histogram Statistics
Preview :
Here how to achieve this :
- Enable Usage Statistic Plugin
To use this feature you should enable the Usage Statistics plugin in the OMP system. It can activate by click the checkbox
By activating the Usage Statistics Plugin the theme automatically show the histogram statistic for any journal download.
- Edit Config OMP file
If you have more than 1 journal you need to edit the config.inc.php file on your OMP root folder. Add a new journal on the base_index and the path.
Here is the example (this is only an example, please change this on based on your OMP site) :
; The canonical URL to the OMP installation (excluding the trailing slash)base_url = “https://demo.openjournaltheme.com”base_url[jcb] = “https://demo.openjournaltheme.com/index.php/jcb”base_url[jot] = “https://demo.openjournaltheme.com/index.php/jot”base_url[joe] = “https://demo.openjournaltheme.com/index.php/joe”base_url = “https://demo.openjournaltheme.com/index.php/js”base_url[jss] = “https://demo.openjournaltheme.com/index.php/jss” |
Change the yellow highlight with your journal path and change the URL path too.
Tips :
If the mini counter read statistics and download statistic above the histogram preview please activate the Show Article Statistics option on the admin dashboard pageThe statistic or article can be shown instantly, OMP run the periodic and automatic cron job to count the visitor of any article. If you find that the number of the statistic is 0, the problem is not related to this theme. You need to evaluate the cron job of OMP. Please read the guide here https://forum.pkp.sfu.ca/t/usagestats-task-recovery/31166/5 |
- References
To enable this feature on the book article detail page you need to activate the references features on the OMP Admin Dashboard.
Here how to activate it :
On the admin dashboard, Hover to the Setting Menu and click Workflow. Select the Submission tab .
Activate the References by checking the Enabled then click Save.
After you had activated and Enabled the References features, you can edit or add references on Article metadata that can be accessed on Submission or Issues -> Archives.
- Digital Object Identifiers
This theme would show any DOI set by the admin on every article on the OMP Admin Dashboard page. This is actually a general feature provided by OMP.
If you need a detailed step to implement this feature here is how to do it :
- Enable DOI plugin
You need to enable the DOI plugin by access OMP Admin Dashboard Plugin page and check the activation box.
- Setup the setting of DOI plugin
after you had activated the plugin you need to setup and select some options on the setting pop-up by check the arrow symbol as shown below :
Then select an available option that suit your journal need (example below) :
- Google Scholar Indexing
This feature optimized the indexing tag of the journal. Make sure you activate the indexing plugin by check this following option on the admin dashboard -> plugin section :
Then our code would automatically make the references / bibliography searchable by the indexing services by following the recommendation by google scholar indexing guidelines.
Recommendation :
As stated by the google scholar indexing guidelines. It is suggested that you should use the Dublin Core Indexing Plugin as a last resort. Here is the original statement :
Use Dublin Core tags (e.g., DC.title) as a last resort – they work poorly for journal papers because Dublin Core doesn’t have unambiguous fields for journal title, volume, issue, and page numbers.
So please disable Dublin Core Indexing Plugin if you already enable the google scholar indexing plugin.
Tips :
How to increase image display quality #
- Go to menu Setting -> Website -> Appearance
- In the menu below, please adjust the cover images, like image below
- Save and refresh your front page OMP
Translation :: how to edit #
This theme may not be configured to support all the language words. If you find that some language would become ##line## because of the language you don’t need to worry since adding some language line is very easy. Just follow this detailed instruction :
- Find which one of the lines needs to be translated :
For example below we find that ##navigation.archives## does not have a translation line
- Add the translation by follow this step :
Here are the steps :
- Edit the file directly :
Open the translation file in the theme file with directory :
omp_installation/locale/code_of_country/locale.xml
For example, we edit the translation in Indonesian language. So we should open the Indonesian language (id_ID) file translation
omp_installation > locale > code_of_country
- Edit the locale.xml file :
- Add the new line as we know that the ##navigation.archives## does not the default language translation, so we need to add this line to the locale.xml file based on the language that we need (example we use the id_ID — indonesian language).
- Save the file and reload your OMP
Note : you need to save the locale file as a backup once you have finished to add some translation since this file may be deleted if you update your omp or your theme. If you want to integrate your locale on ours just email us the locale file and we will merge it to existing theme. |
