About the Support
Our support services are provided solely for the products and services offered on our website. We are committed to providing support, assistance, and troubleshooting for issues directly related to our own products. We may not be able to provide support for third-party products or services, even if they are mentioned or referred to on our website.
The support of our product after you have bought our product includes:
- The installation problem of our product that is not covered in our manual or documentation
- The features that we have mentioned that does not work. The features are limited to our theme feature, not OJS-specific features or third-party plugin features.
- The support for language files.
We may hear any request from our customer about the features and implement it on our product as an improvement but the support is not including any immediate request to implement it to our products for a specific customer need as example we do not include any core modification of the theme as our support or give some specific features to the specific customer except as additional services.
Our product may not work if the minimum required specifications are not met in the client environment. We suggest that if this happens, the client configure the specification meets our requirement. In this case for example, for the OJS theme, all our OJS theme is stated with minimum OJS version. The update or upgrade of the specification such as the OJS upgrade on the theme purchase package is not included in the support scope. We don’t have any obligation to give support to our clients if the client still uses the unsupported version of OJS.
For the OJS products such as themes, everything that happens on the back-end OJS system such as an error on some tab, and some features that do not work on the back-end system such as configuration for another plugin is beyond our theme support. The theme only handles the front-end side of OJS except if the theme cannot be installed on the back-end (the OJS display will not be shown on public / require login to access).
On themes and plugin support, our support has not covered the scope of some assistance on “how to” on the platform usage or the third-party product usage.
On the service of platform support such as OJS support and OMP support, we only cover the support on the functionality of the platform, not the third-party plugins.
Beyond all that we would not provide any support for the add the operational data in OJS such as adding submission, modifying the metadata, adding the email template, and the routine process that should be done by the customer. See the Exclusion of Support section.
Channel
Our support process allows you to reach out to us through various channels for assistance. You can choose from the following methods to contact our support team:
- Email: You can send an email to our support email address. Please provide detailed information about your issue, and our team will respond to you as soon as possible.
- Direct Message: You can use our direct messaging system to communicate with our support team. This can be done through WA or Telegram. Reach out to us with your query, and we will provide the necessary assistance.
- Remote PC Access: In certain cases, we may utilize remote PC access technology to better understand and resolve your issue. We may use tools like TeamViewer or AnyDesk to remotely access your computer with your consent. This enables our support team to diagnose and troubleshoot problems effectively.
Please note that the availability of remote PC access support may vary depending on the nature of the issue and mutual agreement between you and our support team.
Our goal is to provide timely and effective support, no matter which communication method you choose. Please remember to provide relevant details and any necessary credentials to ensure a smooth support experience.
Our working hours are 08.00 to 15.00 using the Singapore timezone, from Monday to Saturday (except the National Holiday). We may give you a slow response if the requested support is beyond that time range.
We reserve the right to deny support if the support period has expired.
Exclusion of Support
We won’t provide any support that is listed as the exclusion of our support in addition to the previous explanation :
- Data Input: We do not offer support for performing data input or data entry tasks on the platform. This includes populating the platform with content, creating or importing large amounts of data, or manually entering information into the system.
- Bug Fixes on the platform: While we strive to provide a stable and bug-free platform, we do not offer support for fixing bugs in the platform’s codebase. Bug fixes for our products (themes and plugins) are the responsibility of our development team, and we regularly release updates to address known issues.
- Third-Party Integrations: We do not provide direct support for third-party integrations or plugins used in conjunction with our platform. This includes limitations in hosting services and issues that may arise from other plugins installed on your system. Support for third-party products, hosting providers, or other plugins should be sought from the respective vendors or communities responsible for those components. We recommend reaching out to them for assistance in resolving any related issues. Our support services primarily focus on the core functionality and features of our platform.
- Hosting or Server Configuration: We are unable to provide support for issues arising from hosting or server configuration. This includes problems related to server settings, DNS configuration, SSL certificates, server performance, or any other server-specific issues. It is recommended to seek support from your hosting provider or server administrator for assistance with such matters.
- End-User Training: Our support services do not extend to end-user training or user onboarding. We recommend referring to our documentation, and tutorials, or seeking assistance from your organization’s internal resources for user training or by using the community to get any input.
- Discontinued Product: If a product has been officially discontinued and is no longer supported or maintained by us, we may deny the provision of our products, services, and support related to that specific discontinued product.
- The request for revision is different from the layout or functionality of the product as we have previewed the product in the demo or the product description.
- Improve the functionality of the product from the product base functionality as it is described in the product description.
For exceptional cases related to platform support services (service that we provide for exclusive platform support services for example OJS support service), we may extend our support to include urgent bugs. An “urgent bug” refers to a critical issue that significantly impacts the functionality, security, or usability of the OJS system, requiring immediate attention and resolution for example the case that makes the site inaccessible and or the site needs to be patched due to security threat. Note that this is not included in the after-sales general product support such as plugins and themes.
Please note that these exclusions help us focus our support efforts on areas where we can provide the most effective assistance and ensure the overall stability and reliability of our products.
Product Usage and License
Any product that we sell on our site can only provide with a usage license.
The ownership of the product is still held by our company. The customer that purchases our product is only provided with a usage license.
Each of the purchases of the product that will provide the usage license can be used for one journal or the conjunction of it and it is only for the one-time type of product except for a specific product that is declared in the product description.
License usage migration:
The policy in force at openjournaltheme.com prohibits users from transferring the license granted to another journal site. The license granted by openjournaltheme.com is exclusively valid for use on sites that have registered and subscribed to openjournaltheme.com. Users are not permitted to transfer, share or transfer the license to other journal sites for whatever reason.
We can deny and pull the usage license once we know that the customer abused this policy. The pull of the usage license will be done with or without any notification to our customer. The pull of the usage license does not include any refund for the product that has been purchased.
Product and Service Denial
We would refuse to provide our product either commercial or free product if the usage of our product is used by an industry that operates on gambling, child abuse, pyramid scheme, money laundry, drug, pornographic, and other illegal services. If the customer already purchases without further notification about their industry, contact us and we would refund the payment immediately.
We reserve the right to deny the provision of products and services to both new and existing clients under the following circumstances:
- Non-Compliance: If a client fails to comply with our terms of service, policies, or any applicable legal requirements, we may deny the provision of our products and services.
- Unethical or Illegal Activities: If a client engages in or intends to use our products or services for unethical or illegal activities, we reserve the right to deny their request.
- Violation of Intellectual Property: If a client violates intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademark, or patent infringement, we may deny the provision of our products and services.
- Abuse or Harassment: If a client engages in abusive, threatening, or harassing behavior towards our team members or other clients, we reserve the right to deny further provision of our products and services.
- Non-Payment: If a client fails to make payment for our products or services as per the agreed terms and conditions, we may deny further provision until the outstanding payment is resolved.
Please note that these are general guidelines, and the specific circumstances for denying provision may vary on a case-by-case basis. We will always strive to act fairly and reasonably in making these decisions.

Discontinue product

Product Guarantee and Refund Policy
Since all our products are in the form of digital products. We need our potential customers to read the requirement of each of our products. We don’t provide any refund to any of all transactions for all the products that we have marked as completed as it is already available on the user account page to download the product. However, if the product still does not work although it meets the requirement as stated on the product detail page. We will help you to make the product work as expected. The product that we mean by this explanation is in the form of themes, plugins, and extensions.
If our customer orders the services from us but we still not initiate the process yet to complete the service we provide a refund for them.
Although we made our priority effort to give our product their best security and features we do not say that our product is free of bugs. We give a guarantee based on our product coverage support and update to patch any bug either reported by our customer or by ourselves. Since our product depends on some factor such as OJS itself, the security feature of any server configuration, and the person who operate the site so we would not give any guarantee for data loss or site breach. The guarantee is limited to support coverage, product bug, and features and is based on the time frame of a specific product.
We also do not cover the guarantee if any or part of our products has been modified by any of our customers. However, we provide additional services to fix it.
