Often times we get suggestions from other people to create complex passwords, this is so that the password we create is difficult to access someone (hackers), but often we forget the password we have created. So we need to reset the password so we can access it again on the desired site.
This also applies to one platform such as OJS (Open Journal Systems). Recently, the name OJS has begun to be discussed a lot on social media or other media, so it is not uncommon for those who have forgotten their previous password.
So with the short tutorial that we have written below, it is hoped that it can help those who are confused about how to reset a password in OJS.
We’ll show you how to reset your account password on the OJS 3 site.
Tips:
There are 2 ways to change / reset user accounts, i.e. :
Reset password in general way #
So here we will reset the password in a general way.
1. First, go to the login page of the OJS site #
2. Select “Forgot your password” #
Select the one marked with the arrow below this image.
3. Enter your OJS email account #
Enter the email that you registered before on the OJS site. And if so, select “Reset Password” to reset your account password.
And if the email is correct, it will appear the same as below.
Then go to your mailbox to view the reset email sent from the OJS site.
4. Confirming your OJS password account reset. #
Open your mailbox.
Look for the inbox that was sent from the OJS site. About “Password Reset Confirmation”.
If it’s true from the OJS site, click the link Reset my password: to get a password reset.
And you will be directed to the OJS site again. Then check your mailbox again to see the password reset account.
5. Login using the reset password. #
Open a new mail that has been sent from its OJS site from the mailbox.
Copy the password provided by the OJS site.
Return to the OJS site, and continue to “Login“.
Enter the password that was copied earlier.
Fill in the form, and set your new password.
Note:
- “sender” : your current OJS username,
- Current Password : password reset from the mail,
- New password & Repeat new password : new password for your account.
Congratulations, you have successfully reset your account password and can log back into the OJS site!
Reset account password using role (Journal manager, editor, and Production editor) #
Note:
- Ask for help from people who have 1 of the 3 roles above, because only they can access these features.
First, open your Dashboard OJS site.
Then, look for the Users & Roles > “Users”.
After that, find the account for which you want to change the password. If you find it, select the drop-down -> “Edit User”.
Enter a new password for the account.
And if saved, a notification like this will come out. This means that the password has been changed successfully.
