Case Studies Journal Poltekpar palembang :
Reinstall and implement Disaster Recovery Plan for OJS site with OJTBackup
One of our services is to provide quality OJS, OMP, DSpace and other platform managed servers. As many of our customers get value from what we have done to their OJS, they are convinced to use our managed server.
Journal Hotspot is the leading international journal in the field of travel and tourism in Indonesia. The journal comprises a multitude of activities which together form one of the world’s fastest growing international sectors. The journal takes an interdisciplinary approach and includes planning and policy aspects of international, national and regional tourism as well as specific hospitality management studies. The journal’s contents reflect its integrative approach – including primary research articles, discussion of current issues, case studies, reports, book reviews and forthcoming meetings.
In this case we received a call from one of our clients from one of the universities in Indonesia, they asked for help to repair their journal site, their journal site could not be accessed at all, after checking it turned out that the campus server on their journal was damaged due to frequent electric currents. became unstable suddenly causing hardware damage, then they asked us to do a repair on the server and try. After our team checked, it turned out that the hard disk hardware could not be accessed anymore, their OJS data could not be returned. That’s a very nightmare for any journal manager, submitting hundreds of article data by thousands of authors just disappearing because there is no disaster recovery plan on their server. In this case the journal manager can’t do much.
We installed a new OJS on our server, the server we provide has been integrated with OJTBackup, an automatic backup system that can perform daily backups to our cloud server. So with the integration of the backup system, it is very unlikely that the same thing will happen to the Palembang Poltekpar journal.
